Yes they tried a lot to extend the visa but it didn’t work as my visa was an express one and I had to leave the country, then I decided to visit Yemen as it was close to Oman and then to Saudi Arabia but either it doesn’t work as I couldn’t obtain the visa because of different reasons such as kidnapping the individuals tourists and so on, then I had to back home caz even I couldn’t inter to the Emirate and it needed to apply for a visa for the second time and it was so difficult because of some political problems we Iranian can’t get the visa on the border like other nationalities, but NP I’m honor of my Nationality so the only way that I had was getting a fly ticket to get back home to Iran from Muscat, I went to one of travel agencies for getting some info about the fly to Iran and even the ticket prices, then I found it’s too expensive flying to my town from Muscat, and I had to spend lot of money for, then I asked for Turkey air like and the tickets, the price was a bit more than going to Iran, so I took a ticket to Istanbul for a day after, around 4:20 am after that I went to the Iran Embassy as I was invited in a national ceremony of the annual Army Day, I couldn’t arrive on time but it was still not late, I met the ambassador Mr.Sahragar and the other staffs in the party, and we took some photos, they invited me for dinner as well and I really enjoyed staying with those guys at the Embassy, the party finished around 11 pm and at the end they wished me luck on the journey, I really thx to all the staffs especially to the ambassador Mr. Sahragar and Mr. Zarnegar who favored and helped me a lot, I really appreciate their attitude.

Yes finally I left Iran Embassy to the Seeb International Airport, it was a sad time for me as I was going to leave the friendly Omani people they were really good and helpful to me in my journey and I would like to go there one more time And meet the people again,

I wish the best for all good people in Oman, who were with me on this journey and helped, Then I unpacked my all the luggage to install on the bike and going to the town, So, Now I am in Turkey…. I have a good memory about this event, Istanbul was very cold for me by the arrival, but it was ok

Today is the 13th of April, we left Sur to Ibra for a short visit and then heading off to Muscat with the bus as I had no more time to stay and cycle there, Ibra had no interesting site to visit in fact form my side and the city was too dry, all the gordens were damaged and the palms trees had been dead. unfortunately because of the lake of water but we spend some times for visiting the old part of the city, and then we went to a mosque for pray and resting till the departure time we had enough time for. It was even interesing for Martin to stay in a mosque for a while and rest

Finally we took the bus and went to Muscat, this time we stayed in a hotel in Rowi Area where you will find and see many many indian and pakistani, the hotel had a night club bar which to music group had program every nights, we did not stay more than a night as the sounds didn’t let us to sleep, we stayed anyhow and then we were looked for another nice places for one more night to stay, the day after I went to the Foreigner affairs departments for extending the visa to stay 2 weeks more. But after a long discussion with them I couldn’t do anything then I decided to ask for help from the Iran Embassy in Muscat, I went there and they promised me to do something to extend the visa but…….

9th April 08
now I’m in Sur city, this town is famous because of the ship building, long ago Sur people were making wooden ship which here they call it Lanch, all Omani fishermen or sailors had to come here to order for one, but now this city has just one workshop left that is still making hand made Ship, the town is really messy and wherever you go, you see rubbish, terribly dirty L. Today I had sightseeing in the city and round of the coast, it was still messy and many types of goats were grazing in the street and alleys too and night time you can see big rats in the city where they were looking for food, that’s so funny. Martin and I decided to stay one day more here in Sur just for rest and tomorrow we will go to Muscat, I have to extend my visa and Marten has to do his affairs

7th April 08

Today I arrived in a town called Quriyyat about 85 kms in the south part of Muscat,I left Muscat in the evening and I could cycle just something about 35 kms in that day, and I stayed in a building with some Bengalis truck drivers, it was their dormitory, they had every thing there, and I slept for over night as they didn’t let me set up my tent out side, they said as you are Muslim and we too, so we have to help you as our brother and so on, early in the morning I got up and had breakfast there then I left them to Quriyyat, Quriyyat city was nice and quite , but messy, and full of Gouts, everywhere you look , Quriyyat is a port on Oman Gulf and the majority of people are fisherman, I stayed there for a few hours and ate bread with cheese and lots of fruits in the only beach Park there, and in the evening I left there to Sur city, the distance was about more than 100 kms and I couldn’t cycle all in the evening late, the weather was too windy against me and it made difficult pedaling, but anyhow I cycled for about 20 kms till I reached the high way to Sur, but the road was still under the construction as it had been broken on last Cyclone in Oman which damaged damaged, so I couldn’t cycle so far on the bad off roads and I was waiting for a pick up to take and passed me the off roads, after a few second I found a pick up which was going on the same way, so they were working on this project, they were from Pakistan and they stayed in a huge campsite on the mid of the road, somewhere near the Shab village, then they took me to the campsite I got so happy about this when I found Marten , a German guy, there. it was just by chance, caz Marten was invited by one of the engineers on that project when he was hiking on the beach near the campsite, anyway. We found again each other and stayed in a same guest room at the campsite and really enjoyed their hospitalities, Mr. Ayyob and Mr. Yaghub was so friendly to we both and I really appreciate them, also to Mr. Mohammad nassir who took me to the campsite for staying there over a night otherwise I couldn’t meet my friend again.

Next to the campsite there was a park which had a big sink hole in the middle, people have different imaginations about this phenomenon, but in my opinion it was like a cave which the roof was ruined down and everything got appear from outside now, I took some photos about this. Hope you like it.

The day after I cycled to Sur but on the way we had to visit a wadi named Shab and then going to Sur but everything got changed as we stayed more than half a day in wadi ( valley) it was very nice and beautiful but the cyclone was really damaged it and all the palm gardens were destroyed but at the end of wadi there was a few lakes suitable for swimming,

Off to the coast

I cycled down to the Sohar city on the Oman Sea Coast, the road was too much Down and uphill but I arrived to there by the late evening and I went on the coast to find a place to camp, I really enjoyed staying there when I invited by a nice Omani guy for taking a shower, but then he asked me to stay with him if I like;-) and I stayed there for 2 days more. Sohar is a beautiful city in Oman full of palm trees and many other types of trees. It is very spacious and everywhere you look there are gardens. Even though it is a big town, when you approach it, it is hidden by the lush green gardens surrounding it

Today I arrived to the land of Oman at 2:30 pm, it was interesting crossing a boarder between 2 countries, the check post named Hili from Dubai side and paid 20 Emirates Dirham as an exit tax, but the check point of Oman was about 35 kms away from Al-Buraymi town, this town is buys too much as many Omani and Emirates are going to go to the other side, it’s eay for them to cross the borders while they live in the Arabian Union, anyway.As I was in the last day of my Oman visa validity to inter to the country I had to show them that I’m in Oman but it would take something about 3 hours to reach the Omani check point then I took a pick up to go there just because of the visa, I found a nice guy who was really interested in cycling on the way to the check point and he took me there free of charge, after I arrived there the weather was dark and it was impossible to continue the journey at the night time, so I stayed in a small village with 2 houses and a mosque I had a nice time there,
